Can I work if I am not an E.U. Citizen?

What are the requirements to work with you?

Obviously each position has different requirements in terms of age, experience, etc. so please make sure to see the job profile page (https://tecsemployment.com/jobs/) for that information, but the basics are: - You must have a first or second E.U. nationality. Unfortunately, we do not accept applications from those who are from outside of the EU and are therefore not legal to work in Spain. What are the work Lengths?

We have contracts for 2, 4 or 6 weeks in July and August, with the majority of the positions being 6 week contracts. All have at least five days of training (management positions more) before camp starts.

Can I Work with My Friend?

We think that it's great that you want to come out with your friend! However, please bare the followiing in mind: - Although we understand that you would want to work with your friend, we CANNOT guarantee that will happen. We won't decide on what camps each person will work on until May/June and will decide this based on the needs of the camp and what staff suit what camp. It is very possible that you will work on a different camp to your friend. - All camps will have training together ...

Do you have placements for Couples?

Yes, but..... When we do interviews, we do not generally aim the interview at a specific camp as this isn't something you will find out about until much closer to the summer. For couples, we can of course consider the couple for the same camp so that isn't a problem. However, what we don't have is any set up in which we allow couples to sleep in the same room, etc.

How much do you pay?

Each position has a different wage so please make sure to go to the relevant page (https://tecsemployment.com/jobs/) for the position where you will see the wage. All wages stated are NET, after tax, meaning what we state is what you will receive at the end of your time with us. Your wage will obviously depend on the position you work and the amount of fortnights. We also offer advances so if you think you need an advance while on camp don’t hesitate to ask your manager.

Do you pay for flights?

We do not pay for staff member’s flights to come to camp. Unlike most American camps, who charge a fee and then book staff flights, we let staff book their own! We do however collect staff members from Jerez Airport or El Puerto de Santa Marìa train station. See above question for how to best to arrive to camp.

Do I need to Speak Spanish?

Not at all. Our camps are run in English and all staff are expected to speak English in front of, and with the campers at all times. Of course, knowing a few words of Spanish can make your life easier when in the supermarket and trying to buy an ice-cream, but there are sure to be Spanish speaking staff who can help you out!

Do I get to choose my camp?

Unfortunately no. With that said we do consider preferences and will try and match you to the camp you’ve chosen first if not you must work with your second option. Each camp is unique in its own way and it’s important to remember it’s not just the location of camp it’s the quality n staff you have working with you and the effort you are putting forth to provide a wonderful summer for the campers

Can I combine work on camp with studying Spanish?

Unfortunately Summer Camp life is not compatible with outside commitments due to the nature and intensity of the work and Spanish in communication with the campers is obviously prohibited with the obvious exception of emergencies, key safety issues and extremely seriously welfare or discipline issues. However combining working out in Spain with pre or post camp Spanish classes is definitely an excellent way to make the most of your work in Spain experience. How long will it take to hear back from you?

Recruitment Periods Although we accept applications all year round, we will usually only recruit staff during the following periods: - Summer Camp: February-Summer for staff. Are there any opportunities for promotion?

During the length of camp there are sometimes opportunities for promotion. However for those who perform well there are possibilities of working in a more senior position the following year.
